About the Task Force

The Process Improvement Task Force reports to the Strategic Organizational Improvement Subcommittee which is charged with considering how to optimize the campus organizational structure in support of best executing its core mission.


Task Force Charge

The Process Improvement Task Force will identify opportunities at a more tactical level to improve existing processes at UC Santa Cruz, toward enhancing effectiveness and efficiency, removing obstacles in our operations, eliminating waste, lowering expenditures, encouraging new ideas, and improving employee productivity and satisfaction.


Objectives

  1. Engage academic and administrative staff in identifying process improvements.
  2. Assess the impact and feasibility of proposed improvements.
  3. Identify resources needed to implement proposed improvements.
  4. Prioritize and submit process improvement recommendations for review by the Budget Advisory and Revenue Augmentation committees and approval by the Chancellor and CP/EVC.
  5. Once approved, develop an implementation plan that includes engagement of process and subject-matter experts and strategies for monitoring outcomes.
  6. Implement, monitor, and report on the improvements.

Timeline

The work of this task force will begin in FY25. Initial proposals will be developed during the Fall quarter. At the end of the FY, the task force will report on its progress toward informing future direction.
