Overview
This spring, the Chancellor and Campus Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor (CP/EVC) charged two committees, the Budget Advisory and the Revenue Augmentation Committees, with providing advice and recommendations on various campus budget issues and identifying opportunities to maximize revenue generation. In early July, the Chancellor included the following in a message to employees, “I am asking the co-chairs of the BAC and the Revenue Augmentation Committee to establish a small subcommittee to work over the summer to develop initial ideas for cross-divisional or whole-campus level reorganizations the campus should consider.”
Committee Charge
Bringing expenditures in line with revenues over the next few years will require not just incremental reductions of expenditures and/or increases in revenues but also higher-level, large-scale reconsideration of how best to focus on and implement the campus’ strategic goals. From this strategic perspective, the campus will be able to consider what it needs to do more of, what it needs to do less of, including what it may want to stop doing. It will be able to consider how to optimize its organizational structure in support of best executing its core mission. This subcommittee is charged with leading this effort.
